Tennant Creek Renal Unit (NT Government – Department of Planning and Infrastructure)
Construction of a new renal clinic at Tennant Creek
Being a medical treatment centre, it was imperative for this building to be both practical and approachable. The answer was found in this unusual design incorporating sloping architectural lines and desert colours of ochre, silver and purples.
A raised angular roofline above the reception entrance deflects light and heat, creating a cool and inviting space, while solar panels on the main roof actively work to attract the sun, creating eco-friendly solar energy.
An appealing and approachable result, from every elevation.
Location - Tennant Creek, NT
Construction Period - September 2004 through May 2005
